Mother

As I was laying on my bed fully awake in early Saturday morning, my body was burning with fever and my congested nose made breathing almost impossible. I wanted to be in sleep, I wanted to be unconscious, because of the physical discomfort, but I couldn’t, and suddenly I remembered my mom and how she took care of me when I was sick during my childhood. I remember those harsh winter days when the temperature was well below zero, and I was tucked into bed by my mother. I remember how she made sure that I was tucked into blanket from head to toe. She made sure there was no opening, so the cold air cannot get in. I remember how she woke me up to feed me porridge or soup, how she convinced me to eat more even I found no appetite. She was like a full-time nurse but with much more love and tenderness. Even in the time of discomfort, these memories brought sweetness and warmth in my heart. Soon, my mind went blurred and I fell in asleep. Thank you, mom!
